Job summary

Vast is seeking a Buyer in Long Beach, CA, reporting to the Director of Supply Chain, to support sourcing hardware for space station programs. This full-time exempt role focuses on end-to-end procurement, supplier selection, RFQ/RFP cycles, and PO placement in our ERP environment.

You will build and manage supplier relationships, analyze quotes, negotiate terms, and collaborate across engineering, quality, manufacturing, and contracts teams to ensure on-time delivery for critical mission

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain, or related role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience with RFQ/RFP cycles and PO placement preferred.
• Experience with ERP systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end sourcing activities from demand identification to PO placement.
• Conduct market research to identify suppliers and support RFQ/RFP execution.
• Sourcing of tight-tolerance, prototype, or production hardware.
• Interpret engineering drawings and specs to ensure supplier capabilities.
• Develop and optimize the supply base to meet program needs.
• Lead source selection, negotiations, and contracting strategies.
• Maintain sourcing docs in ERP and track supply and demand signals.
• Collaborate with quality, engineering, manufacturing, finance, and program management.
