Job summary

Vast is seeking an Electrical Engineer, Crew Avionics, in Long Beach, CA for a full-time, exempt role reporting to the Manager of Human Interface Avionics to help design and build avionics for artificial-gravity space stations.

You will own hardware from cradle to grave, translate requirements into detailed electrical specs, design multi-layer PCBs, perform signal integrity and EMI analyses, and support testing, environmental and flight qualification campaigns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Some experience in electrical engineering with a focus on system and PCB design.

Responsibilities

• Own hardware from cradle to grave and coordinate with teams for rapid iteration.
• Translate requirements into detailed electrical specifications and design documents.
• Perform trade studies to select components and design approaches.
• Design and develop multi-layer PCBs for flight hardware.
• Conduct signal integrity, power integrity, and EMI/EMC analyses.
• Develop and execute PCB and system test plans; troubleshoot and fix issues.
• Document designs, tests, and reviews; provide guidance to junior engineers.
