Spring Lake Park Schools in Minnesota is seeking AVID Tutors to support secondary students at Spring Lake Park High School and Westwood Middle School. Tutors will be trained in AVID methods and work as role models for motivated, organized students who believe all learners can succeed.

Candidates should be comfortable with computers, able to follow teachers’ plans, and collaborate with colleagues. The position is Tuesday and Thursday, mid-September start, with a pay of $18.50 per hour and sick

Qualifications

• Ability to meet school, student, and program needs.

Responsibilities

• Trained to use AVID methodologies and materials to work with AVID students.
• AVID tutors should be role models of motivated, organized students who believe all learners can succeed.
• A college-age tutor is a great asset but not required.
• Tutors will work in a supportive manner with secondary students.
• Meet regularly to discuss student progress and confer with the teacher about future planning.
