Job summary

North Saint Paul Maplewood & Oakdale School District 622 is seeking an AVID Tutor to support middle and high school students during the regular academic day. Training will be provided, and tutors work with AVID teachers to foster college readiness and student achievement.

Hours are during the 8:00am–3:00pm schedule; Fall 2026 start; pay is $19.16/hour (or $11.41/hour for current district students). This role emphasizes mentoring, collaboration, and initiative in a diverse school setting.

Position: AVID Tutor

Work Schedule: Hours will vary but all work will occur during the regular academic day, 8:00am-3:00pm.

Start Date: Fall 2026

Pay: $19.16 per hour ($11.41 per hour for current students in the district)

Summary

AVID is a college-readiness program that targets students who are \"in the academic middle,\" but who have potential for higher performance. AVID tutors play an integral role in supporting the students through a rigorous curriculum by serving as role models and mentors, and by taking an active role in developing the academic and personal strength of AVID students. Tutor training in AVID will be provided.

Required Qualifications

• Be confident working with assignments in a variety of subject areas and at various skill levels


• Serve as a role model and mentor


• Be competent and comfortable working with diverse populations
