Job summary

A local school district is seeking a part-time AVID Mentor to support students in the classroom and facilitate collaborative learning. Responsibilities include forming small groups, evaluating student materials, and assisting with the writing process. Ideal candidates are current 11th or 12th graders with a GPA of 3.5 or higher and experience in Advanced Placement courses. This position offers up to 10 hours of work per week at a rate of $13.00 per hour, without benefits.

Qualifications

• Current student in School District U-46, 11th or 12th grade.
• On track to graduate from high school on time.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
• Completed or currently enrolled in an Advanced Placement Course.

Responsibilities

• Form small collaborative learning groups under supervision.
• Evaluate Tutorial Request Forms and student binders.
• Work with students in writing process phases.
• Complete written reflection on tutorial experience.
• Attend AVID Tutorial training.
