Job summary

Qualifications

Ability to work with secondary students and support teachers.

Responsibilities

Conduct in-person tutorial sessions that emphasize collaborative learning and student-led discussion.
Determine concepts to focus on from worksheets and student discussions.
Encourage students to take ownership of their learning with guided strategies.
Assist students in various subjects using AVID resources and textbooks.
Provide constructive feedback on student work in person or online.
Support AVID scholars through care and connection in the classroom.
Maintain a positive, focused AVID classroom atmosphere.
Assist the AVID coordinator with schedules, field trips, and parent communications.
Regularly communicate student progress with the AVID coordinator/teacher.
Model personal excellence and high expectations for AVID students.
