Job summary

Peraton is seeking an experienced Engineer – Aviation Weather Systems to support modernization under the FAA BNATCS contract. The role anchors engineering execution for AWOS, VWOS, WCAM, and NAS interfaces, providing centralized visibility of schedules, risks, and dependencies.

Onsite in Washington, D.C., you will coordinate with FAA, engineering teams, subcontractors, and installation partners to ensure successful execution and compliance with NEEDS standards.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain a public trust clearance.
• Experience managing complex technical projects involving engineering, infrastructure modernization, or mission-critical environments.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams across organizations.
• Experience managing technical schedules, risks, deliverables, and customer communications.
• Experience developing engineering documentation and acquisition documentation.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level systems engineering support for weather observation systems and NAS interfaces.
• Manage interfaces between weather observation systems and NAS, ensuring data flow integrity.
• Develop and maintain integrated project schedules, risk registers, and technical deliverable schedules.
• Support reviews, briefings, status reporting, and executive communications.
• Coordinate engineering teams to complete drawings, analyses, and implementation packages on schedule.
• Assist with migration planning, implementation strategies, and technical transition activities.
