Job summary

Peraton is recruiting for a Systems Engineer focused on Aviation Weather and NAS Integration. This role supports FAA modernization initiatives, coordinating weather observation systems with NAS interfaces across engineering, program management, safety, cybersecurity, and procurement teams.

Remote with travel to Washington, DC, you will help ensure requirements, interfaces, risks, and deliverables stay aligned through the project lifecycle, contributing to safer and more efficient airspace

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Extensive experience managing complex technical projects involving engineering and NAS/aviation systems.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams and managing schedules, risks, and deliverables.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work with government customers and senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide systems engineering support for aviation weather modernization activities and the integration of weather observation systems with the broader National Airspace System (NAS).
• Analyze and coordinate system interfaces, data flows between weather observation systems and NAS.
• Maintain visibility into system interactions, technical dependencies, risks, assumptions, and decisions.
• Support requirements development, analysis, traceability, and verification activities.
• Identify technical issues and coordinate with appropriate engineering organizations to drive issues through resolution.
• Support technical reviews, program briefings, status updates, and stakeholder communications.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities to ensure technical products, analyses, and implementation packages are completed on schedule.
• Develop and maintain integrated project schedules and risk registers.
• Coordinate discussions with FAA representatives, subcontractors, and installation partners.
