Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or its educational equivalent outside the U.S. or Canada.
  • Three (3) years' related experience and/or training in aviation or training/education.
  • Current pilot and instructor certificates and ratings needed to train all aircraft in the program.
  • A&P license preferred for Maintenance PMs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily training and checking activities of instructors, including scheduling changes and staffing.
  • Provide timely feedback and coaching; conduct performance appraisals.
  • Ensure compliance with FlightSafety policies and procedures; address disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Recommend merit-based salary changes within budget and policies.
  • Assist Scheduling Specialist in organizing and assigning instructors for trainings.
  • Review staffing and plan changes to meet customer demand.
  • Interview and evaluate instructor candidates for hire; assist with hiring decisions.
  • Validate instructor qualifications for certification of program training activities.
  • Educate instructors on technology and effective delivery methods.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of the program aircraft, equipment, and regulatory developments.
  • Liaise with customer contacts regarding training needs and expectations; coordinate with DOT/DOMT and managers as needed.
  • Maintain instructor qualifications per QMS and regulatory requirements; conduct training as needed.
  • Manage development and sustainment of courseware and training devices for the program.
  • Assist in resolving Flight Training Device discrepancies as assigned by DOT.
