Job summary

Ancora Education is seeking a Tool Room Assistant in Wyomissing to safeguard tool room inventory and manage check-in/out of tools for students and faculty. The role emphasizes maintaining inventory, ensuring tools are in good working condition, and enabling efficient use of equipment.

The position requires basic computer skills, working knowledge of tools, and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Preferred candidates have 1–3 years in inventory or related trades and strong Microsoft Office

Qualifications

• Diploma in a related trades field from an academic institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
• Working knowledge of tools
• Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job, including heavy lifting
• Basic computer skills
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Issues and receives all tools/consumables to students and faculty
• Verify all tools are accounted for before and after each shift.
• Notify instructors and the supervisor of discrepancies in the check-in/out process.
• Maintain all tools in working order, repairing and servicing broken/worn tools when appropriate, and removing & replacing nonfunctional tools/equipment.
• Assist with requisitioning and acquiring new tools and equipment.
• Maintain up-to-date inventory records.
• Keep the tool room clean and well-organized at all times.
• Responsible for shipping and receiving of inventory, equipment, and consumables
• Maintain effective loss prevention systems, ensuring the security of all assigned company assets.
• Other duties as assigned
