Job summary

The Hillsborough County Aviation Authority - Tampa International Airport is seeking a Systems Maintenance Technician II to maintain automated airport equipment such as baggage conveyors, boarding bridges, and ground power units. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment modification while adhering to safety standards.

Work shifts are rotating (days, evenings, overnights, weekends, holidays) with emergency call-in availability.

Qualifications

• Must have at least a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) years experience installing or maintaining automated equipment or related field.
• Or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Must possess a valid Florida Driver License.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive and predictive maintenance on automated equipment.
• Conducts inspections and maintenance on roll-up doors for security, fire protection, and lighting systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Executes advanced repairs, replacements, and setups of electrical and mechanical components, such as hydraulic systems, electric motors, and controls.
• Troubleshoots electrical and mechanical issues, applying root cause analysis to determine and implement effective repairs.
• Dismantles devices to access and remove defective parts using hoists, hand tools, and power tools as necessary.
• Repairs and troubleshoots communication cables, including telecommunication lines, to maintain connectivity and functionality.
• Modifies equipment to enhance operational efficiency using ARC, MIG, plasma cutting, and oxy/acetylene fabrication, following safety protocols.
