Job summary

West Star Aviation in East Alton, IL is seeking a Bombardier Sheet Metal Technician to perform basic sheet metal operations on airframes, including drilling, riveting, and cutting. The role requires reading manuals and maintaining tool readiness in a fast-paced hangar environment.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, A&P license preferred, and be able to work overtime and weekends. We offer competitive hourly pay plus benefits and potential bonuses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; A&P license preferred.
• Ability to read manuals and perform basic sheet metal tasks.
• Strong English communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic sheet metal operations on airframe components (drilling, riveting, cutting).
• Apply and remove sealant, sound deadening, and finish materials.
• Maintain and repair shop facilities, equipment and tooling.
• Use basic computer skills to access training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
• Communicate clearly in English; follow supervisor instructions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
