Job summary

West Star Aviation Inc. in Grand Junction, CO is seeking a Sheet Metal Technician to support turbine airframe work on-site. You will perform drilling, riveting, cutting, and finishing tasks, reading blueprints and drawings, and helping organize crews for assignments.

The role requires basic to advanced knowledge of turbine aircraft structures, with a preference for candidates holding an Airframe and Powerplant license. A valid driver’s license is beneficial for travel and site coverage.

Qualifications

• Basic to advanced knowledge of turbine aircraft structures
• Ability to read blueprints and work from drawings
• Experience with fastening systems, procedures and techniques
• Prior sheet metal experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform basic sheet metal operations (drilling, riveting, cutting) on airframe components
• Apply and remove sealant, sound deadening and finish materials
• Maintain and repair shop facilities, equipment and tooling as needed
• Use basic computer skills to navigate training manuals and maintenance data
• Communicate effectively in English with team members
• Assist supervisor in organizing manpower and setting project priorities
