Job summary
Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal / Senior Principal Engineer Systems Test - Aviation Safety Official, onsite in Palmdale and Edwards AFB, CA. The role supports the Flight Test team and Depot Maintenance, focusing on aviation safety program elements of the SMS.

Qualifications
- Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline and 5+ years of related experience or a MS with 3+ years, or a PhD with 1+ year.
- Active US Government Secret clearance (or higher) required and ability to obtain SAP clearance.
- Experience in aviation operations (flight or ground) and DCMA 8210 familiarity.
Responsibilities
- Deliver required safety products to comply with DCMA 8210-1D.
- Lead safety audits/assessments and Mishap Response planning.
- Develop and maintain Safety Management System (SMS) framework and data collection.
- Coordinate safety training, publications, and risk management efforts.
