Job summary

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree in aviation, safety, or a related field.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements (14 CFR 60, 61, 91, 141, and 147).
• Proven ability to design and implement safety initiatives for complex multi-faceted operations.
• Hold and maintain a third-class medical or higher.

Responsibilities

• Promotes a culture of safety among faculty, staff and students.
• Serves as a safety liaison to the School of Aeronautics and provides regular briefings, analyses, and recommendations.
• Manages the Safety Reporting System and analyzes safety risks using reports and surveys.
• Oversees the SMS Safety Assurance Processes and coordinates safety audits.
• Leads investigations into accidents and safety occurrences and engages with department directors to manage risk.
