Job summary

Jet Aviation Staffing is seeking a Director of Safety & Security to lead and manage the day-to-day safety programs. The role collaborates with operations leadership and executives to develop the Safety Management System and serves as the primary liaison with FAA, NTSB, and other regulators.

The position requires extensive Part 121/135 experience, leadership, and a strong background in aviation safety compliance.

Qualifications

• 5 years’ experience with Part 121 or 135 air carrier, required.
• 3 years’ relevant work experience with air carrier safety, required.
• 2 years of prior leadership experience, required.
• Knowledge and operational experience of 14 CFR Part 91 and Part 135 operations, required.
• Bachelor’s degree in aviation or related field, preferred

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with department heads to develop and execute the day-to-day management and administration of company safety programs.
• Develops the company’s Safety Management System, promoting safe actions and serving as a liaison with FAA, NTSB, and other agencies.
• Meets requirements as 14 CFR Part 119.65 Director of Safety.
• Manages and continuously improves company safety programs including ASAP, IEP, FRMP, TFFSP, training, and promotion.
• Manages safety risks and security threats to aircraft operations.
• Ensures operations comply with Air Operator Certificate conditions and applicable regulations.
• Leads investigations independent of other departments and regulatory bodies.
• Oversees safety training materials and conducts regular safety trainings.
• Chairs monthly Safety Committee meetings and communicates safety trends to executives.
• Recommends process and safety improvements and ensures action follow-through.
• Maintains confidentiality in safety operations.
