Job summary

Avelo Airlines is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to ensure airworthiness and regulatory compliance across maintenance activities. This role requires conducting inspections, validating documentation, and guiding technicians with a focus on safety and reliability at our Texas facility.

Qualified candidates must hold a current FAA A&P license, have 3+ years of heavy-aircraft maintenance experience, and be able to travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Current and valid FAA A&P license.
• 3+ years maintenance experience on large airplanes with 10+ seats.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• Strong knowledge of CFRs (IOSA, DOD, OSHA).
• Ability to read and understand processes in manuals.
• Strong communication with crewmembers and authorities.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality oversight for all maintenance activities.
• Monitor work to ensure manuals and tools are used during inspections and maintenance.
• Identify RII items per company policies and procedures.
• Ensure proper terminology for aircraft discrepancies.
• Promote safety and provide direction to technicians performing service, maintenance, repair and/or ramp activities.
• Perform preliminary, in-progress, hidden damage, and final inspections.
• Ensure the quality and accuracy of maintenance documentation.
• Review maintenance records prior to archival for accuracy.
• Maintain current forms and tags for technicians and ensure manuals are current.
• Review SDR reports and verify item identification and reporting.
• Verify proper turnover procedures are utilized.
• Perform inspections of RII and Buy Back items.
• Monitor RII practices and ensure proper execution across shifts.
• Self-audits to ensure maintenance support quality.
• Ensure calibration and shelf-life compliance for tools and parts.
• Quarantine and disposition of parts per manuals.
• Participate in Safety Management System (SMS) and report safety issues.
