Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Aircraft Quality Control Inspector to ensure aircraft maintenance complies with 14 CFR Parts 43, 91, 125, FAA and DOD regulations, and OEM instructions. You will inspect mechanics’ work, interpret technical documents, and ensure airworthiness before operation.

The role requires an A&P license and FAA IA, plus five years of aircraft maintenance experience. US CBP clearance and a valid driver’s license are also required; travel may be involved.

Qualifications

• Requires CBP background suitability clearance; US citizenship is required.
• Minimum five years of experience in aircraft maintenance.
• Valid Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) license is required.
• Valid FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) is required.
• Must have a valid US driver's license and ability to provide technical support to engineers and customers.
• Ability to read and interpret data and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Inspect the work of Aircraft Mechanics performing maintenance and modifications.
• Apply technical knowledge to determine proper equipment installation and operation.
• Review and approve procedures for complex repair situations.
• Perform airworthiness inspections, logs, and testing activities.
• Monitor calibration and tool-control records and safety programs.
• Provide guidance to lower-level technicians and ensure compliance with standards.
