Job summary

Sierra West Airlines is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to lead the Quality Control/Assurance department and ensure all documentation, parts, and materials meet FAR requirements. The role focuses on proper inspection, record completion, and release of aircraft for service, under FAA guidelines.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of technical experience in Part 135/125/121/145 environments and an A&P license (Inspector Authorization preferred).

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years technical experience within a Part 135,125,121 or 145 repair station, with at least 3 years in an inspector capacity.
• Familiar with guidance materials under Part 43.
• Airframe and Power Plant license; Inspector Authorization preferred but not required.
• Comprehensive knowledge of FAA paperwork including FARs, FAA Orders, Advisory Circulars, Form 337, Form 8130-3, Form 8110, STCs, etc.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operation of the Quality Control/Assurance department and ensure all documentation, parts, and materials meet FAR requirements.
• Ensure inspections are properly performed and records/forms are completed prior to releasing aircraft for return to service.
• Perform audits and maintain logs for all contract maintenance vendors.
• Review the maintenance program and ensure calibrated tooling is within established time frames.
• Ensure proper execution of maintenance releases and acceptance of incoming materials from outside vendors.
• Monitor procedures and recommend changes to comply with Federal Aviation Regulations.
