Job description

What We're Looking For:

Barge Design Solutions, Inc. is currently seeking to fill the position of Aviation Project Manager in West Tennessee or Northern Florida. The successful candidate will manage and develop aviation projects primarily in West Tennessee, Mississippi, Northern Florida, and the Gulf Coast. Typical projects may include runway/taxiway extensions, apron expansions, hangar construction, terminal construction, installation of airfield NAVAIDS, airfield lighting replacement, asphalt overlays, concrete and asphalt pavement designs, Airport Master Planning, and pavement maintenance projects. The ideal candidate is looking for a new challenge that involves leading a creative and thoughtful design process from concept to build, and participating in an innovative design culture that values client relations and development.

Responsibilities

  1. Business development and project management, including developing proposals, negotiating contracts, and attending meetings during all project phases.
  2. Developing contracts, including subcontracts, to comply with Barge terms.
  3. Preparing comprehensive Project Management Plans and tracking project budgets, contracts, billing, and schedules.
  4. Ensuring Quality Program implementation and execution.
  5. Reviewing project reports and findings, making modifications as needed.
  6. Reviewing the work of others for quality assurance.
  7. Creating conceptual site plans and designs, providing technical engineering guidance, and resolving project challenges.
  8. Acting as the primary liaison between the client and project team, developing project scope and proposals, coordinating meetings, and delivering the final project to the client.
  9. Meeting profitability goals in support of Barge’s business and strategic plan.
  10. Mentoring team members and building employee capabilities.
  11. Developing and maintaining positive relationships with clients, officials, contractors, and others.
  12. Modeling core values in daily actions and promoting a positive workplace culture.
  13. Performing other duties as requested.

Education & Experience Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field required.
  2. Professional Engineer registration required.
  3. 6-12 years of experience, including aviation engineering experience.
  4. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
  5. Superior knowledge of FAA Airport Circulars, engineering design, bidding, construction administration, and management of airport projects.
  6. Familiarity with airport design under FAA and State block grant programs.
  7. Must be a collaborative team player.
  8. Established relationships with FAA and State Aeronautics personnel are a plus.
  9. Some travel required.
