Job description

What We're Looking For:

Barge Design Solutions, Inc. is currently seeking to fill the position of Aviation Project Manager in West Tennessee or Northern Florida. The successful candidate will manage and develop aviation projects primarily in West Tennessee, Mississippi, Northern Florida, and the Gulf Coast. Typical projects include runway/taxiway extensions, apron expansions, hangar and terminal construction, installation of airfield NAVAIDS, airfield lighting replacement, asphalt overlays, pavement designs, Airport Master Planning, and pavement maintenance. The ideal candidate is seeking a new challenge that involves leading a creative design process from concept to completion and contributing to an innovative design culture that values client relations and professional development.

Responsibilities:

  • Business development and project management, including proposal development, contract negotiations, and meetings during all project phases.
  • Developing contracts and subcontracts in accordance with Barge's terms.
  • Preparing comprehensive Project Management Plans, tracking budgets, contracts, billing, and schedules.
  • Ensuring quality program implementation and execution.
  • Reviewing project reports and findings, making necessary modifications.
  • Performing quality assurance reviews of work.
  • Creating conceptual site plans and designs, providing technical guidance, and resolving project issues.
  • Acting as the primary liaison between the client and project team, developing scope and proposals, coordinating meetings, and delivering the final project.
  • Meeting profitability goals aligned with Barge’s strategic plan.
  • Mentoring team members and building capabilities.
  • Maintaining positive relationships with clients, officials, contractors, and others.
  • Modeling company core values and promoting a positive workplace culture.
  • Performing additional duties as required.

Education & Experience Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration required.
  • 6-12 years of relevant experience, including aviation engineering.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
  • Extensive knowledge of FAA Airport Circulars, airport design, bidding, construction administration, and project management.
  • Familiarity with airport design under FAA and State block grant programs.
  • Must be a collaborative team player.
  • Existing relationships with FAA and State Aeronautics personnel are advantageous.
  • Some travel may be required.
