Job summary

Garver is seeking an Aviation Project Engineer in Frisco, Texas. The role focuses on designing airport projects, including runways, taxiways, aprons, airfield work, and related utilities.

The engineer will support construction administration as projects move into construction, including submittals, RFIs, site visits, and Record Drawings. Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program, have 1–4 years of experience, be proficient in AutoCAD Civil

Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited civil engineering degree required.
  • 1–4 years of related experience.
  • Strong CAD design ability in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • FE exam passed.
  • Strong written and oral communication with clients.

Responsibilities

  • Design airport projects including runways, taxiways, aprons, and terminals.
  • Provide construction administration support during construction phase.
  • Prepare plans, specifications, reports, and estimates.

Aviation Project Engineer

Location: Frisco, Texas

Garver's Aviation Team maintains a diverse, skilled planning and design team dedicated to providing the expertise and leadership needed to assist our clients in meeting both current and future needs.

Position Overview

The Aviation Project Engineer will primarily be responsible for designing airport projects for our clients in Texas. Projects include, but are not limited to, improvements to runways, taxiways, aprons, airfield grading, drainage, hangars, fuel farms, parking areas, terminal buildings, landside development, utilities, and other airport construction related projects. The Aviation Project Engineer will play a supportive role in construction administration as the project progresses into construction, including submittal reviews, request for information (RFI) responses, site visits, and Record Drawings.

Responsibilities
  • Detail-oriented and a team player with solid self-initiative to meet deadlines
  • Development of Plans, Specifications, Reports, Estimates, and other technical deliverables
  • Design projects in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • Construction Administration support
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • 1-4 years of related experience
  • Strong working knowledge and ability to design in CAD programs, including AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Passed the FE exam
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with both internal employees and external clients
  • Some travel may be required (approximately 10% with occasional overnight)
