Job summary

Garver in Frisco, Texas is seeking an Aviation Site Civil Project Manager to lead airport landside design and project delivery. You will work within Garver’s Aviation Site Team on multi-disciplinary projects, producing design deliverables, schedules, and cost estimates using AutoCAD Civil 3D and related software.

The role requires a ABET‑accredited civil engineering degree, a PE license, and 6+ years of site civil experience including permitting and coordination with jurisdictions.

Aviation Site Civil Project Manager

Frisco, Texas

For the last six decades, Garver has been designing projects nationally for more than 250 aviation clients. Ranked 11 on the ENR’s list of Top Airport Firms, Garver understands the complexities of airport systems held together by runways, roadways, facilities, and electrical systems that need to work in tandem to accommodate daily needs for travel and transport. As part of Garver’s commitment to continued innovation in airport design, our Aviation Site Team is dedicated to providing the expertise and leadership to assist our clients in meeting both current and future needs nationally on large landside aviation projects.

The Aviation Site Civil Project Manager will primarily be responsible for leading designing and managing airport land development projects. The Aviation Site Civil Project Manager must be able to work as a member of a multi-disciplined team, work with diverse clients, and produce complete design phase deliverables, including drawings, specifications, cost estimates, exhibits, technical reports, and narratives. Tasks associated with creating a set of construction documents include drafting, quantity computations, specifications, and cost estimates. Design development software packages will be used, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other civil design packages.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • PE license
  • 6+ years of related experience with site civil design, permitting, applicable software applications
  • Deep working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Design experience that includes drainage, grading, and utilities
  • Experience with due diligence, permitting, and jurisdictional coordination
  • Experience with task management, concept, design, and project management tasks
  • Managing budgets
  • Developing project schedules
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with both internal employees and external clients
  • Some travel may be required (approximately 10% with occasional overnight)
