Job summary

Kimley-Horn’s Aviation Practice in San Jose, CA seeks a motivated Practice Builder to lead and expand the aviation team, build key client relationships, and drive profitable project delivery.

The successful candidate will manage airport design and construction projects, review technical documents, mentor staff, and pursue new opportunities with a strong bonus potential and path toward ownership.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience managing airport design and construction projects.
• P.E. license is required.
• Strong technical skills with AutoCAD Civil3D.
• Experience in business development, writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgeting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and expand the Aviation team and practice in San Jose, building and managing key client relationships.
• Review design documents and drawings for airside and landside aviation projects, including grading, drainage, pavement design, specifications, and safety plans.
• Prepare analysis reports in support of airport planning, design, and construction.
• Provide vision, strategic planning, and establish goals; mentor staff and manage resources.
