Job summary

Ascent Aviation Services, a leading MRO provider, seeks a Planning Manager in Marana, AZ to lead planning and production control. You will oversee scheduling, resource allocation and workflow optimization, ensuring compliance with FAA directives while driving efficiency.

The role requires strong leadership, MRO experience, and the ability to guide a high-performing team toward operational excellence. A&P license is a strong plus and collaboration with HR/Sales is essential.

Qualifications

• Five plus years maintenance planning.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication in English.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Leadership, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
• High school diploma or GED; training in aircraft maintenance or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Develop and schedule aircraft maintenance tasks compliant with FAA regulations and company guidelines.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Inspection and related teams to ensure proper sequencing.
• Translate customer work scopes into clear work instructions and ensure documentation.
• Create critical path flow charts and ensure routine maintenance checks are properly estimated and entered in planning software.
• Maintain Facility Maintenance Slot chart and attend weekly Maintenance-lookahead meetings with Sales and Operations.
• Manage staffing requirements with HR and Sales; coordinate manpower and resources for billable work.
• Track performance, coach and train staff to keep qualified personnel on hand.
• Monitor man-hours and optimize resource use across projects.
