Job summary

Norfolk International Airport is seeking a Passenger Boarding Bridge Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain passenger boarding bridges and ground support equipment. The role requires hands-on mechanical, electrical, and PLC skills, plus ability to read blueprints and CMMS reports.

The position offers 2nd shift hours (Fri–Tue, 4:30 PM–12:30 AM) with potential overtime. Training consists of a 6‑month program on first shift before transition.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Experience in passenger boarding bridges & ground support equipment repair and maintenance.
• Experience in building trades, inventory, CMMS or similar systems.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair passenger loading bridges and GSE.
• Troubleshoot PLC-controlled mechanical systems.
• Respond to service calls and resolve issues promptly.
• Obtain quotes for parts, materials, or service with vendors.
• Log work orders and preventive maintenance in CMMS.
• Replace defective parts using hoists or lifts.
• Communicate with operations and airlines effectively.
• Maintain a safe working environment.
• Perform preventive maintenance or repairs as needed.
• Assist with snow removal operations.
