Job summary

Menzies Aviation in Houston, TX is seeking a Duty Manager to oversee ramp supervisors, GSE and aircraft maintenance personnel. You will ensure safety, drive operational standards, manage resources, and maintain client relations while safeguarding financial performance.

Responsibilities include planning resource allocation, reporting, coordinating with customers and agencies, supervising the station equipment planning cycle, and enforcing security and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior Ramp experience required.
• Prior management, supervisory or lead experience in the Aviation industry preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Possess and maintain a valid US driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and all pre-employment testing.
• Ability to proficiently read, write and speak English.
• A working knowledge of cargo/ramp GSE.
• A working knowledge of the IATA Standard Ground Handling Agreement.
• Aptitude to develop the supervisory team, provide succession planning, and re-engineer business processes as demanded by changes in the business.
• Able to support other stations as required and ensure own station responsibilities are covered when on leave.

Responsibilities

• Full accountability to the GM for Health & Safety issues, operational and financial performance (from the HTML).
• Planning resource allocation in each business unit (from the HTML).
• Routine liaison with customer representatives (from the HTML).
• Liaison with internal and external customers and agencies (from the HTML).
• Producing routine reports (from the HTML).
• Supporting the development of the business units with accurate and timely project work (from the HTML).
• Leading the station equipment planning cycle (from the HTML).
• Ensuring compliance with all internal and external operational and administrative requirements (from the HTML).
• Has the duty to suggest improvements to working practices especially those relating to safety and security (from the HTML).
• Must follow all Security procedures as required (from the HTML).
• Organizing and planning skills, with the ability to react effectively and quickly to unexpected circumstances (from the HTML).
