Job summary

US Navy Aviation Operations & Support roles involve aiding launch and recovery of naval aircraft, handling and securing aircraft on flight decks and in hangar bays, and operating essential support equipment. Personnel progress through training, gain leadership responsibilities, and contribute to safety and readiness during shipboard and shore operations.

Expect duties on flight decks, hangar bays, and flight lines, with exposure to jet blast, rotor wash, noise, heat, and variable weather.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent for enlisted positions; bachelor’s or qualifying professional degree for officer positions.
• Meeting medical, vision, and dental standards; physical fitness requirements.
• Security clearance eligibility may be required.
• Ability to work safely around aircraft and moving equipment in loud and harsh environments.

Responsibilities

• Support aircraft launch and recovery operations in operational environments.
• Assist with aircraft handling, movement, spotting, and securing on flight decks and lines.
• Operate aviation support equipment and systems used in aircraft operations.
• Perform inspections and operational checks before and after equipment use.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on aviation support equipment.
• Support safety practices including FOD prevention and emergency readiness.
• Assist with emergency response and training drills related to aviation operations.
• Support administrative and maintenance control activities as required.
