Job summary

HNTB Corporation is seeking an aviation planner focused on aviation noise analysis. You will analyze aircraft noise impacts for NEPA, Part 150 studies, and Airport Master Plans using AEDT and GIS tools.

The ideal candidate has experience with FAA orders and environmental policy and excels in technical writing and presenting complex analyses to clients and agencies. The role involves collecting data from FAA sources, developing noise exposure maps, and contributing to environmental planning

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Engineering, or related field with 4 years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 3 years of experience.
Experience conducting aviation noise analyses for NEPA/Part 150 and airport master planning projects.
Proficiency in AEDT and GIS tools (ArcGIS Pro) and data processing languages (SQL, Python, R).

Responsibilities

Collect, analyze and prepare noise model input data from FAA data and airport monitoring systems.
Develop aircraft noise exposure maps using AEDT and conduct advanced GIS analyses.
Prepare concise NEPA documents and present methods and results to clients and regulators.
