Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Mechanical Inspector/Construction Coordinator to support quality assurance on the Airside D Capital projects at Tampa International Airport. The assignment is expected to last two to three years and start immediately.

You will inspect HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for a 600,000 square foot concourse, review contractor plans, and document daily activities, coordinating with Airport operations to ensure safety and conformance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years combined experience as construction inspector, project engineer, or design engineer.
• Five years as mechanical inspector or project engineer on active construction projects.
• Experience documenting mechanical inspection on multi-story commercial buildings.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily construction inspection services for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection on the new concourse.
• Oversee contractor quality control procedures and test plans for mechanical systems.
• Verify workmanship and materials meet contract requirements and submittals.
• Prepare daily reports detailing progress, decisions, coordination, and issues.
• Identify nonconforming work and track corrective actions until conformance.
• Note safety concerns and coordinate with Jacobs safety manager.
