Job summary

21-Air-LLC is seeking a Director of Materials and Parts in Greensboro, NC to lead strategic procurement, inventory control, warehousing and repair management for aircraft parts and tooling. You will drive availability, cost control, and regulatory compliance across Maintenance, Quality, Engineering and Finance teams.

The role requires extensive aviation materials experience, strong leadership, and proven ability to optimize supplier performance and inventory accuracy in a fast-paced maintenance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent aviation materials experience.
• 7–10 years in aviation materials, supply chain or maintenance logistics.
• 5+ years in a leadership role managing teams, vendors, budgets, or inventory programs.
• Strong knowledge of FAA documentation, rotable/expendable inventory control, and repair management.
• Experience with Part 121/135/145 or MRO operations preferred.
• Proficiency with TRAX, eMRO, Silverwings or similar platforms.
• Strong analytical, financial, negotiation, leadership and communication skills.
• Cross-functional leadership across Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, Finance and Operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership over aircraft materials, rotable components, expendables, tooling, stores and logistics.
• Develop and execute a materials strategy to support availability, maintenance, AOG recovery and cost control.
• Establish stocking strategies, min/max levels, reorder parts and forward-positioning plans.
• Lead procurement to source from approved suppliers with proper documentation and compliance.
• Oversee inventory accuracy, cycle counts, shelf-life control, and hazardous material handling.
• Manage repair orders, warranty claims, core returns and vendor performance.
• Monitor KPIs like parts availability, AOG response time, inventory accuracy and repair turnaround.
• Ensure FAA compliance and safety standards across all parts and materials processes.
• Lead day-to-day performance of Materials and Parts organization and logistics coordination.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce shortages, excess stock and delays.
