Job summary

Saltchuk Aviation’s Northern Air Cargo unit is seeking an Apprentice Aircraft Maintenance Technician in Anchorage, AK, to support inspection, servicing, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of our aircraft operating under 14 CFR Part 121.

You will work under supervision with licensed technicians, attend to tasks within your training level, and learn CAMP, FARs, and documentation while promoting safety and airworthiness.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in FAA-approved AMT school; prefer at least one year in program.
• Previous maintenance or mechanical experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• Pass pre-employment background check and DOT/FAA qualifications.
• Ability to safely use common and power tools and maintenance equipment.
• Ability to work in a safety-sensitive, highly regulated environment.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays as required.
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn electronic maintenance tracking systems.
• Must have a basic tool set.

Responsibilities

• Assist qualified Aircraft Maintenance Technicians with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
• Perform tasks within training level and under supervision.
• Assist with inspections, servicing, troubleshooting, component removal/install.
• Support line/hangar maintenance, daily/weekly checks, and maintenance packages.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, avionics, hydraulic, and related systems.
• Remove/install components, panels, and other equipment.
• Complete maintenance paperwork and electronic records.
• Follow safety, regulatory, and maintenance procedures.
• Coordinate with quality control, engineering, and other departments.
