Qualifications

• Two years related machining experience.
• Able to read and follow blueprints, specifications, and verbal instructions.
• Has working knowledge of machine shop mathematics, may include trigonometry.
• Effectively applies lean initiatives.
• Demonstrates effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as the ability to work in a team environment.
• Interprets reports and uses job specific software applications; uses employee self-service systems to access online information and use automated systems (PMR, TORS, email).
• Effectively demonstrates team member competencies and participates in goal setting, performance feedback, and self-development activities.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and runs production machines using blueprints and route sheets; makes adjustments as needed.
• Performs operations such as tapping, spot-facing, chamfering, countersinking for close tolerances.
• Aligns and fastens parts using fixtures and established methods.
• Adjusts feeds, speeds, and depth of cut to machine quality parts.
• Removes burrs and irregularities from machined parts.
• Inspects parts for conformance using measuring instruments and gages.
• Maintains equipment for cleanliness, accuracy, and reliability as per division requirements.
• Performs SPC as required by division.
• Contributes to lean initiatives by identifying improvement areas.
• Adheres to safety rules and keeps a clean work area.
• Performs other related responsibilities; job description may be adjusted.
