Job summary

Broward County Government is seeking an Information Systems Manager for the Aviation Information Technology Applications Division to lead enterprise IT initiatives and ensure reliable, secure systems across airport operations.

The role emphasizes staff supervision, project management, vendor coordination, and strategic technology planning, focusing on modernization, cost efficiency and compliance with government standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a closely related field is required.
• Four years of planning, managing and implementing information system solutions, including two years of supervisory experience.
• One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of education.

Responsibilities

• Establishes priorities, sets deadlines, and provides leadership in development and maintenance of enterprise applications; coordinates with staff, user agencies, and vendors.
• Directs design, development, and implementation of computer-based systems; evaluates feasibility of new systems and processes.
• Supervises staff in maintenance/support activities; provides project management oversight; coordinates upgrades, data migration, and release planning.
• Researches issues, recommends improvements, and conducts cost-benefit analyses for data processing needs and technology investments.
• Leads evaluation of new technologies and directs modifications to equipment and programs as feasible.
• Oversees vendor relationships, contract oversight, and performance evaluations; participates in change control, incident response, and disaster recovery.
