Ashurst Perkins Coie US LLP is seeking a mid-level associate (4-6 years) to join our complex litigation group, defending clients in high-stakes matters with emphasis on product liability and commercial issues in aviation and transportation. This position is open to all US offices.

The candidate should have excellent writing, experience across all litigation stages, strong academic credentials, and a client-service orientation. Clerkship experience, especially appellate, is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and superior academic credentials.
• 4–6 years of experience in complex litigation, including pre-trial discovery and trials.
• Strong writing skills demonstrated by clerkship, law review, moot court or publication.
• Willingness to deliver excellent client service and a client-centered practice.
• Ability to analyze complex legal issues including contractual, jurisdictional, choice-of-law, and admiralty law.
• Clerkship at appellate level strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle all stages of litigation from pre-trial discovery to trial.
• Defend clients in high-stakes product liability and commercial matters in aviation and transportation sectors.
• Collaborate within a tight-knit team delivering excellent client service.
• Mentor junior associates and contribute to firm mentorship.
• Maintain strong writing skills and contribute to legal research.
