Job summary

PrimeFlight Aviation Services, Inc. is seeking a GSE Mechanic Level I to repair and maintain ground support equipment such as tugs, loaders, and pushbacks. The role involves advanced maintenance across motorized and non-motorized equipment in a fast-paced aviation environment.

The candidate should have 1–2 years of verified experience, own tools, and be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Safety and customer service are core priorities at PrimeFlight.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• 1–2 years of verified experience.
• Must provide their own tools and toolbox.
• Demonstrate regular, predictable attendance at job location.
• Must hold a valid driver's license.
• Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Ability to access information in print and electronically, including use of electronic devices (IPads/Tablets, Computers, Mobile).
• Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients in-person and electronically.
• Pass a background check and drug screen.
• Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, RAIC, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs as applicable).
• Airlines are 24/7, so flexibility for nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Service equipment with fuel, water, oil, hydraulic fluid and compressed air.
• Log equipment numbers to be repaired with description of work for each piece.
• Inspect, Maintain, Troubleshoot, Replace, Repair, or Modify engines and transmissions.
• Inspect brakes and braking systems and body work.
• Check towing hitches, undercarriages, wheels and tires.
• Maintain components like valves, manifolds, hoses and wiring.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues per guidelines and safety rules.
• Remove, test, repair or replace carburetors, governors, air and oil cleaners, ignition points.
• Test equipment and applicable manuals to diagnose problems.
• Operate and test ground equipment for performance assessment.
• Complete paperwork and track parts.
• Adhere to safety procedures; exemplify PrimeFlight customer service.
