Job summary

Modern Aviation is seeking an experienced operations and financial leader in Des Moines to guide budgeting, strategic planning, and process standardization across fuel, hangars, and facilities. The role emphasizes staff development, vendor management, and driving revenue growth through strong customer service and lease management.

The position requires at least five years of supervisory experience, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and proven leadership and financial skills.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of supervisory or management experience in general aviation or airport operations preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Aviation Management, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and execution skills.
• Financial acumen with budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development and execution of the annual operating plan and budget for the business.
• Implement standardized service levels, pricing strategies, and procedures across fuel, hangars, and facilities.
• Monitor operating performance across units and implement corrective actions.
• Manage inventory, equipment, tools, and vendor relationships to support operations.
• Oversee capital expenditures, facility maintenance, and asset management.
• Lead and develop staff including LSTs, CSRs, mechanics, and facilities personnel.
