Job summary

San Diego International Airport’s Facilities Management team is seeking a Lead Maintenance Project Coordinator to oversee complex maintenance and repair projects, coordinating contractors and internal partners to ensure safety, reliability, and efficiency.

The selected candidate will mentor Maintenance Project Coordinators, balance schedules and budgets, and drive departmental priorities in a dynamic airport environment. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or closely related field.
• Six years paraprofessional, public works‑related engineering experience.
• California driver’s license and insurability.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex maintenance and repair projects from planning through closeout.
• Coordinate contractors, internal teams, tenants, and stakeholders.
• Develop and monitor project schedules, milestones, budgets, and cost estimates.
• Review bids, RFPs, and contract documents; support procurement.
• Support management with portfolio planning and resource allocation.
• Provide day‑to‑day direction and mentorship to Maintenance Project Coordinators.
• Drive and operate Authority vehicles for site visits.
