Job summary

San Diego International Airport is seeking a Lead Maintenance Project Coordinator to manage complex maintenance projects, coordinate contractors and internal partners, and mentor junior coordinators. You will balance schedules, budgets, and safety in a dynamic airport setting.

The role requires strong leadership, project management, and communication skills, with hybrid work on-site and remote days based on department needs. A California driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or closely related field.
• Six years of paraprofessional, public works-related engineering experience or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain California driver’s license and pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex maintenance and repair projects from planning through closeout.
• Coordinate contractors, internal teams, tenants and stakeholders to meet requirements.
• Develop and monitor schedules, milestones, budgets and cost estimates; identify risks and propose actions.
• Assist in contractor selection, bids, and project closeout activities.
• Support portfolio planning, workload distribution and department priorities.
