Job summary

San Diego County Regional Airport Authority is seeking a dynamic Maintenance Worker I to join our Facilities Management team. The role focuses on maintaining and enhancing airport facilities and infrastructure, ensuring safe, smooth operations and reliable traveler experiences.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or G.E.D.
• One year experience using hand, power tools, equipment and machinery related to construction, mechanical, electrical, or building trades.
• Equivalent combination of training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance: performs routine-to-skilled maintenance and repair of physical plant and infrastructure; supports electricians, HVAC, carpenters, painters, plumbers with welding tasks.
• Compliance: monitors work, ensures safety standards, assists preventive maintenance; responds to emergencies.
• Equipment and Tools: operates light/medium equipment, hand/power tools; moves office furniture.
• Vehicle Operation: drives Authority vehicles to worksites to ensure timely repairs.
• Flexibility: may work non-traditional schedules including nights/weekends; on-call for emergencies.
• Administrative: uses computer for records, timecards, and work orders; attends cross-department meetings.
