Job summary

StandardAero in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Manager, Engineering to lead the engineering department and drive policy development and process improvements across repair and overhaul activities. You will direct resources, ensure compliance with standards, and maintain product quality throughout engineering programs.

The role emphasizes collaboration with clients, mentoring staff, and delivering efficient technical solutions in a regulated, safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in production, manufacturing or process engineering roles.
• Leadership experience in engineering design, manufacturing or production.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, directs and controls the activities and operations of an engineering department/project team.
• Develops and implements policies, standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the department/project team.
• Consults and negotiates with clients to prepare specifications, explain proposals and present engineering reports and findings.
• Assigns, coordinates and reviews the technical work of the department or project teams.
• May participate directly in the design, development and inspection of technical projects or in the engineering work of the department/project team.
• Oversees engineering projects to ensure they are technically sound and in compliance with all internal and external regulatory standards.
• Monitors the progress of on-going projects, makes recommendations for improving the process to meet the needs of the end-users, performs job cost reporting, budget analysis and reporting of overall project control.
• Determines if assistance is required from outside contractors, initiates arrangements, provides technical data and assists contractors with related support services.
• Exercises authority in hiring, training, career development, performance appraisal, salary adjustments, promotion, discipline, health, safety and the general employee relations of direct reports.
• Actively participates as a member of the appropriate management team(s), assisting with the development and realization of departmental strategic plans, budgets, goals and outcomes.
• Carries out special projects as assigned.
