Ardurra Group, Inc. invites emerging engineers to join our aviation team in Wilmington, NC as a summer intern. You will support planning, design, and construction tasks for airport infrastructure and gain hands-on experience in real-world engineering projects.

The internship provides exposure to AutoCAD/Civil 3D workflows, field data collection, cost estimating, and collaboration with seasoned professionals across multidisciplinary aviation assignments.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Exposure to AutoCAD or Civil 3D is preferred.
• Interest in airport design, aviation infrastructure, FAA standards, or transportation engineering is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Team-oriented and able to work independently with a proactive attitude.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Assist with plan details, outlines, and design components for airport infrastructure projects.
• Support preparation of technical specifications and project documentation.
• Research design options and present findings to project managers.
• Review design drawings and contribute to quality control efforts.
• Prepare sections of technical memoranda and project reports.
• Perform material quantity take-offs and obtain budgetary quotes for cost estimating.
• Assist in development of construction cost estimates for aviation projects.
• Monitor workload and assist with documentation needs.
• Conduct field tests, measurements, and data collection for aviation design and construction.
• Assist with construction inspection and on-site project representation.
• Prepare daily field reports and contribute to construction oversight tasks.
• Assist with project-related communication and client coordination under supervision.
• Provide miscellaneous project support to meet deadlines and client expectations.
• Collaborate with engineers and multidisciplinary team members across aviation assignments.
