Job summary

Ardurra Group, Inc. in Wilmington, NC seeks an Aviation Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to support planning, design, and construction of airport infrastructure. You will assist with plan details, specifications, field tests, cost estimates, and project reporting while learning from engineers and project managers.

This paid internship offers hands-on exposure to Civil 3D/AutoCAD, collaboration across disciplines, and a pathway to future opportunities within Ardurra.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Exposure to AutoCAD or Civil 3D is preferred.
• Interest in airport design and aviation infrastructure is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing plan details, outlines, and design components for airport infrastructure projects.
• Support preparation of technical specifications and project documentation.
• Research design options and present findings to project managers.
• Review design drawings and contribute to quality control efforts.
• Prepare sections of technical memoranda and assist with project reports.
• Perform material quantity take-offs and obtain budgetary quotes.
• Assist in developing construction cost estimates for aviation projects.
• Monitor workload and help identify scope changes; support documentation needs.
• Perform field tests, measurements, and data collection for aviation design.
• Assist with construction inspection and on-site representation during active seasons.
• Prepare daily field reports and contribute to construction oversight tasks.
• Support client interactions under supervision and collaborate across teams.
