Job summary

Ardurra is seeking an Aviation Engineering Intern to join our Blacksburg, VA team for Summer 2027. The internship provides exposure to planning, design, and construction of airport infrastructure and hands-on engineering experience under supervision.

You will assist with plan details, specifications, and field tests, and support project managers with cost estimates. Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or related field, familiarity with AutoCAD or Civil 3D is a plus.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Exposure to AutoCAD or Civil 3D is preferred.
• Interest in airport design and aviation infrastructure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing plan details, outlines, and design components for airport infrastructure projects.
• Support preparation of technical specifications and project documentation.
• Assist in researching design options and presenting findings to project managers or engineers.
• Review design drawings within defined limits and contribute to quality control efforts.
• Prepare sections of technical memoranda and assist with project reports.
• Perform material quantity take-offs and obtain budgetary quotes for cost estimating.
• Assist in development of construction cost estimates for aviation projects.
• Support project managers by monitoring workload and documenting scope changes.
