Job summary

The Inland Group of Companies is seeking a Deicing Equipment Mechanic at Des Moines Airport (DSM). The part-time/seasonal role covers maintenance of deicing equipment, GSE, vehicles and related facility gear, with occasional support for aircraft de-icing tasks.

Responsibilities include scheduled/unscheduled maintenance, record-keeping and ensuring compliance with company, airport and regulatory requirements. Travel to other locations may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus two years in a maintenance field with mechanical and electrical maintenance experience.
• Able to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems and complete repairs within established timeframes.
• Knowledge of gasoline- and diesel-powered equipment, including design, operation, repair and maintenance.
• Able to read and use maintenance manuals, schematics, blueprints and illustrated parts catalogs, and use standard and specialty tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Basic to intermediate computer skills, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel, with the ability to maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain and repair deicing equipment, GSE, vehicles, pumps, hoses and other equipment for safe operation.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections and equipment checks, and maintain records.
• Communicate equipment status and timelines with team and management.
• Identify parts and materials needed for repairs and assist with ordering.
• Prepare equipment for de/anti-icing operations and assist with aircraft de/anti-icing as needed.
