Job summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Project Manager to lead Aviation Construction efforts in Phoenix, with travel as needed. The role focuses on delivering baggage handling system projects from preconstruction through turnover, balancing schedule, cost, and quality.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in construction PM, aviation experience, and strong leadership. Procore/Bluebeam/Asta and MS Office proficiency are required to drive successful project outcomes.

Qualifications

• At least five years in construction project management, aviation experience required.
• Baggage Handling System experience highly preferred and leadership ability required.
• Experience managing teams and mentoring staff in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with project management software and MS Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage project schedule; address long lead items and update plans.
• Negotiate and execute change orders, subcontracts and purchase orders.
• Complete monthly status reports, owner billings and risk assessments.
• Identify value engineering and scope reduction opportunities.
• Ensure safety plan is communicated to team and subcontractors.
• Assist with preconstruction efforts and manage buy-out process.
• Detect constructability issues and ensure work stays within scope.
• Understand contracts, budgets, insurances, bonds and change orders.
