Job summary

Woolpert seeks an experienced Construction Manager to join our Aviation market team in the Midwest. You will oversee construction phase services, including inspection management, contractor coordination, and client communication, leading field teams to deliver high-quality infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Construction Management and 5+ years of construction management experience, with FAA specs a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 5+ years of construction management or project management experience.
• Knowledge of civil engineering and land development construction practices, including means and methods.
• FAA construction specifications knowledge is a plus.
• Experience with construction inspection, observation reporting, and quantity tracking.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with clients and internal teams.
• OSHA 10-Hour Construction Certification (or ability to obtain).
• Ability to navigate construction sites safely.

Responsibilities

• Be part of a team delivering aviation-related infrastructure projects (runways, taxiways, aprons, airfield lighting).
• Manage construction inspection and QA testing activities for diverse projects.
• Coordinate change orders, RFIs, budgets, schedules, and contract administration.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients to align goals.
• Monitor contractor performance and maintain project documentation.
• Oversee material quality and workmanship per specs.
• Provide on-site leadership and field directions.
• Develop meeting agendas and document minutes.
• Ensure accuracy of as-built drawings and safety standards.
