Job summary

Airborne Maintenance & Engineering Services in Tampa, FL, is seeking a fabricator to craft aircraft parts and composite assemblies. The role involves detailing, sanding, bonding, and autoclave processes across composite materials.

Candidates should handle reading blueprints and tolerances with precision, and work with various hand tools and ovens in a manufacturing setting. The position requires 3 years in MRO/military component repair or equivalent experience, and a readiness to work flexible

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Airframe license preferred but not required.
• Three (3) years MRO/Military component repair experience desired.
• Working knowledge of precision measuring instruments.
• Familiarity with company instructions, processes, manuals, and MSDS labels.
• Working knowledge of production management computer systems and internal control systems.
• Specialized training in machine shop practices.
• Airport SIDA badge maintenance ability.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and use tape measures to ensure project accuracy.
• Read precision measuring tools and instruments.
• Use hand tools, grinders, sanders, files, Dremel tools, drills, and operate ovens.
• Repair components per manuals and router instructions.
• Perform hot-bonding, wet lay-up prep, and cures using raw materials or pre-pregs.
• Repair with adhesives and resins.
• Remove and repair honeycomb and core panels.
• Repair thermosets and thermoplastics with adhesive bonding.
• Grind, sand, blend, deburr; operate power tools and equipment.
• Follow OSHA PPE standards; maintain a clean work area.
