Job summary

Allflight Corporation is seeking an Aviation Composite Technician to join our FAA-approved Repair Station. You will inspect, test, repair, and fabricate composite components and assemblies for commercial aircraft, including flight control surfaces and engine cowls, following Customer/FAA/EASA requirements and approved data.

The role requires extensive composite experience, lay-up and infusion with carbon fiber, ply orientation knowledge, and operation of autoclave and ovens.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 5+ years in relevant industry.
  • Able to lift assemblies weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to read and comprehend blueprints/drawings and related instructions.
  • Capable of basic mathematical calculations.
  • Must have no known allergies to epoxies or other composites materials.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, test, repair, clean, and service aircraft composite components and assemblies per applicable requirements and approved data.
  • Initiate and document nonconforming materials, hardware, tools, parts, assemblies, or portions thereof.
  • Perform composite lay-up, repairs, and alterations to approved technical data.
  • Operate autoclave, hydraulic presses, and ovens to complete bonding cycles.
  • Maintain safe, clean, and organized work area and record all fab/repair tasks on company documents.
  • Collaborate with teammates to uphold quality and safety procedures.

Job Description:Allflight Corporation is seeking an Aviation Composite Technician to join our team. Allflight is a great opportunity to expand your aviation career at our FAA approved Repair Station in a convenient location.You will inspect, test, repair, clean, service aircraft composite components and assemblies (Flight control surfaces, TRs, Engine Cowls, composites components for commercial aircraft) per Customer/FAA/EASA requirements/rules/regulations and approved data. Initiate and document any nonconforming materials, hardware, tools, parts, assemblies, or portions thereof, according to specifications, processes, and procedures. Perform composite lay-up, repairs, and alterations to approved technical data. The role also requires extensive composite experience in composite parts fabrication, and structural assembly process for both repair and fabrication.RAACut materials per the work order, lay up the cut materials into a panel construction per the work order.High-performance composite parts fabrication using prepreg carbon materials.Work on bonded and fastened composite assemblies.Layup and infusion of carbon fiber for composite parts.Understanding of ply orientations and vacuum bagging processes.Operate autoclave, hydraulic presses, and ovens to complete bonding cycle.Techs will be required to sign for work accomplished and ensure proper recording of all fab/repair tasks on company documents.Ensures that all repair work is performed according to procedures and per correct document revisionComply with all company rules, regulations, and procedures set forth in company manuals and policies.Keep a constant watch for safety, excessive cost of labor duplication, ensure proper and adequate equipment is used, acceptable parts or components are installed, and approved hardware or supplies are used.Techs will be responsible for keeping the work area clean and may be required to maintain or repair company property from time to time.Establish and maintain positive working relationships and collaboration with other employees.Develop personal skills for continuous improvement.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent is required.5+ years in relevant industry.Perform tooling prep work and hand lay-up of prepreg materials.Knowledge of basic inspection equipment.Able to lift assemblies weighing up to 50 lbs.Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.Maintain work area in a neat, orderly, and organized manner.Have no known allergies to epoxies or other composites materials.Must be able to verbally communicate, read and comprehend written and verbal instructions, detailed blueprints and other similar authorized drawings and documents, and be capable of doing basic mathematical calculations.Oven, autoclave, laser projection, and automated ply cutting equipment operator experience.Must be able to work alone, without direction, and with minimal supervisionExcellent interpersonal and ability to work in cooperation with diverse teams.
