Job summary

The City of Chicago's Aviation Department is seeking an Aviation Communications Operator - Trainer to coordinate and deliver training for both new and current aviation communications staff at O'Hare or Midway. The role includes classroom and hands-on instruction on radio, phone, camera systems, access control and computer aided dispatch, plus developing curricula and tests for ongoing staff development.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent, three years as an Aviation

• High School Diploma or equivalent certificate (GED) required.
• Three (3) years of work experience as an Aviation Communications Operator within the City of Chicago.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates training for new and current aviation communications staff.
• Conducts classroom and on-the-job training on radio, telephone, camera system, access control and CAD systems.
• Develops and maintains training curricula, lesson plans and tests under supervision.
• Maintains training materials and records; ensures compliance with certifications and requirements.
• Performs Aviation Communications Operator duties when not training, as assigned.
• Maintains proficiency in job functions performed by Aviation Communications Operators.
